Fried Dough Fundraiser for the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department
Spring is in the air—and fried dough is on the menu! Come out and support the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department while getting your first taste of summer. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside…savory or sweet…fried dough is the treat no one can resist. Norfolk firefighters will be cooking some up at the ambulance building on Shepard Road to raise money for new equipment. Saturday, March 21. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Free Film Screening “Green Fire”
This one-hour film celebrates the legacy of renowned American naturalist, writer, environmentalist Aldo Leopold and will be shown on Thursday, March 5 at the Church of Christ. The film follows Leopold’s journey from forester to influential conservation visionary. Leopold is best known for his book, “Sand County Almanac.” Open to all and free. Please register at:

C.J. Guerin Exhibition at the Library
“A Brush with Nature” is an exhibition of the work of painter and printmaker C.J. Guerin and features scenes captured through her travels in the New England states. The exhibition will be on view during the month of March at Norfolk Library. As an elected Silvermine Art Guild artist since 2002, Guerin joins the artists who have created a unique art colony in New Canaan, Conn. Her work is in many public and private collections. Please join us at a reception for the artist on Sunday, March 1, from 4 to 6 p.m., hosted by the Library Associates.
Seeds of Faith and Love
All children and their families are welcome to join us for a morning of faith, fun, and friendship as we celebrate Children’s Day on March 22 at Church of Christ. Enjoy a child-friendly worship service at 10 a.m. in the Meetinghouse with cheerful music, a children’s sermon, and plenty of family fun. After some time in worship, the group will move to Battell Chapel for activities, movement, crafts, snacks, and more. Bring your kids and invite a friend (or two!) Mindfulness Series with Miranda Lee
Learn how to use Mindfulness tools in your daily life as Miranda Lee holds her weekly classes at Norfolk Library on Saturdays from 9:15–10:00 a.m. March’s theme is Self-Compassion. Research shows that self-compassion is a powerful way to achieve emotional well-being and contentment. Sponsored by the library, this course is offered via Zoom. Anyone can join at any time. Palm Sunday Worship: March 29 at 10 a.m. in the Meetinghouse on the green. Maundy Thursday Prayer Dinner: April 2 at 6 p.m. in Battell Chapel. Dance for Fun Class
A new dance class led by Kristin Mudge has started at Battell Chapel on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. You do not need any prior dance experience— just a love of moving to lively, energetic music and maybe a sense of humor. All are welcome to come join the fun. A $10 donation benefits the UCC Norfolk

Creative Voices in Documentary Films Series at the Library
The third film in this series, chosen by filmmaker Sloane Klevin, is “Mistress Dispeller,” to be screened on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. Desperate to save her marriage, a woman in China hires a professional to go undercover and break up her husband’s affair. With strikingly intimate access, Mistress Dispeller follows this unfolding family drama from all corners of a love triangle. Norfolk Reads Leopold
On Sunday, March 8, from 3 to 5 p.m., the Norfolk Library is hosting a Community Reading of selections from A Sand County Almanac. This event has been planned with the support of the Aldo Leopold Foundation and will enhance the town’s awareness of the Land Ethic and the transformative power a community has in living with and caring for the land. Author Talk and Book Signing: Passion and Power
Harriet Newman Cohen and David Feinberg will give an author talk at the library on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. Passion and Power: A Life in Three Worlds (released Feb. 6) is about the life and career of Harriet Newman Cohen, one of the nation’s most celebrated divorce attorneys, as she navigated the male-dominated legal world from the 1970s to today. Following the book talk, Harriet and co-author David Feinberg will sign copies of their book. Clothes Closet
The Clothes Closet at Church of Christ Norfolk is accepting donations of gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. Winter clothing and coats are greatly needed. They are always looking for sweaters to upcycle too. (Sweaters with moth holes or other damage? No problem!) Items can be dropped off at the Food Pantry at Church of Christ Norfolk, Tuesday–Thursday 10 a.m.–1 p.m, at the church office Tuesday–Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or at the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department.
