Iacino Resigns as Norfolk Tax Assessor
Is taking full-time job in Winsted

Tax Assessor Cory Iacino, who was hired as a shared resource by Norfolk and Colebrook in the fall of 2019 when long-time Assessor Michele Sloan retired, has accepted a full-time position in Winsted. Her last day in Norfolk was June 22.
For the past six months Iacino has been working part-time in Winsted, where she was recently offered her a full-time position, beginning on July 1. Winsted will now have two full-time assessors.
“I enjoyed my time and the town folk in Norfolk and am going to miss it,” Iacino said.
First Selectman Matt Riiska, when asked about the town’s plans for a replacement, said he expected to hire a clerk to be in the office for nine to 10 hours a week, and find a certified assessor for three to four hours a week to handle any matter that requires a qualified professional. Since learning of Iacino’s plans, Riiska has been calling neighboring towns to ask if he might approach their assessors about the Norfolk position. Colebrook’s First Selectman, Tom McKeon, has similar plans, but will continue to employ Iacino as the assessor for several hours a week. Both selectmen noted how difficult it is to find certified assessors.
Any interested applicants should contact the selectman’s office at (860) 542-5829.
