Keeping the Spirit of the Season Going Year-round
Selectman’s Corner
By Matt Riiska
It never ceases to amaze me how fast the years can go by. When you are busy, time seems to fly. There are many of you who can attest to this, knowing how many hours so many put into making Norfolk the community it is. With that said, I want to encourage anyone who wants to get involved in the community to do so. We continue to have openings on many committees and there are many organizations who can always use more members. Whatever your interests, your help will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about how you can help, please call the Selectmen’s office at 860-542-5829.
Two organizations that you should consider joining are the Norfolk Lions Ambulance or the Fire Department. What can be more rewarding than helping to save lives and keep the town safe. There is also the Norfolk Lions. Their efforts often go unseen, but their support of the ambulance, early child eye screening, assistance to those in need, helping our young people with scholarships or the countless other activities they do to help Norfolk and Lions Club International through hard work is extremely rewarding.
To the countless people who have done so much this past year to make Norfolk a wonderful place to live, thank you! And, to anyone who would like to join in on all the fun—just ask, we can find a place for you.
Take care, stay healthy and enjoy the holidays.
