Howard Gordon Estock of Colebrook, Conn. passed away peacefully at age 78 on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, after a brief illness. Howard received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a Partner with the New York City law firm of Clifton Budd & De Maria, where he practiced labor law for 43 years. Howard was a past President of the Norfolk Country Club and served on the boards of the Doolittle Lake Club and the New York Athletic Club. Most of all, he enjoyed the Sandy Brook Gin and Chowder Club, where he was the official “Greeter of the Guests” for many years. He was partial to BMWs, single malt scotch and, curiously, naughty Norwegian Elkhounds. Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sarah, his loving daughters Emily Rigo (Stephen) and Katherine Estock (Peter Hussell), as well as his four cherished grandchildren, William and Vivian Rigo and Ian and Finley Hussell. He is also survived by his sister Gail Haller and noble companions, Waffles and Ruffles. He will be profoundly and deeply missed. A memorial will be held in the spring.
