Ed Preece has recently been promoted to the rank of captain in the New Britain Fire Department. Preece grew up in Norfolk was a member of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD), having trained under longtime fire chief Bill Kelley. Both Ed’s father, Albert, and his mother, Lorraine, who have lived in South Norfolk for over 30 years, were also members of the NVFD. Ed Preece joined the New Britain Fire Department over 20 years ago. He now resides in New Hartford with his wife and two children.
