Norfolk Reacts to Supreme Court Decision

Over 100 people gathered on Norfolk’s town green on Sunday, July 24, in support of womens’ right to make their own private decisions about their reproductive health. The gathering was organized by Jenna Brown who said, “Overturning Roe vs. Wade is not okay and we have to do something” State Representative Maria Horn spoke, encouraging women to vote for their rights and to encourage others to vote, too.

Meanwhile, down the hill from the gathering on the green, people from all three of the towns of the St. Martin of Tours parish (Norfolk, Lakeville, and Canaan) as well as people from Winsted, gathered at Immaculate Conception Church to pray. According to Fr. M. David Dawson, pastor of the parish, “We prayed for the children whose lives are at risk; we prayed for those experiencing the stresses associated with a crisis pregnancy and we prayed for innocent human life to be valued from conception to natural death.”
