History in the Baking

The Norfolk Historical Society will be the site of sweet delights on Saturday, Dec. 10, for its Eighth Annual Cake Auction.
You can’t do batter than bakers Lisa Auclair, Jill Chase, Walter Godlewski, Tom Hlas, Betsy Little, Marie Lowe, Marie-Christine Perry, Alyson Thomson, Katie Thomson and Bruce Weinstein. An original artwork by Turi is pure icing on the cake. The $25 donation at the door is but a trifle for signature cocktails and treats while mixing with friends and neighbors. Once all are sufficiently pre-heated, auctioneers Betsy Gill and John Fernandez will butter the group up to take a whisk on temptations like lime and coconut dream cake, black forest gateau, Kentucky bourbon bundt or classic English Christmas cake. You’ll definitely want a piece of the action. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be nothing left but crumbs by seven. Don’t be chocoLATE to the party!
