Food Pantry Grant Opens Doors
The Norfolk Food Pantry has new doors, thanks to the generosity of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, through a grant from Draper Foundation Fund, which covered the expense of replacing the food pantry’s doors. The previous doors were difficult to open and ruled unsafe by the Norfolk Fire Marshall. Jan Graham-Jones (left) and Gloria Gourley greet visitors to the pantry through one of two sets of newly-installed doors. The number of daily visitors to the food pantry has increased steadily in the last two years as the cost of living has increased, and monetary and food donations are very much appreciated. The pantry is open Tuesdays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
