With a winter storm on the horizon, construction crews took about 12 hours to construct a three bedroom modular home at 7 Haystack Woods Road. Signature Building Systems delivered the four parts on massive tractor trailers on Dec. 22, 2025, but poor weather delayed assembly until Jan. 13. It took a massive crane, lasers, sheer muscle power and the occasional hammer to get the job done as illustrated in the photo above. Completion of interior work is expected to take about a month. The home, on land owned by the Foundation for Norfolk Living, is part of a 10-home affordable housing initiative overseen by the Litchfield County Center for Housing Opportunities.
