The wood of Chris Peterson’s pieces is buttery, tactile and often marked with the natural features of the growing tree. The hanging shelves in the current show come from a single butternut felled on a neighbor’s land. Peterson has collaborated with potter Joey Sage Jablonski, owner-operator of North Canaan’s Funkware,  to make candle stands and other functional objects. Jablonski’s array of vases, teapots and nesting bowls retain traces of the potter’s fingers.
