Take time to enjoy the beauty of aNorfolk’s scenic trail system during the 13th annual Haystack Mountain Challenge trail races on Sunday, Oct. 4. Sponsored by the Norfolk Land Trust, the challenging half-mar-athon race, which includes two runs up Haystack Mountain, starts at 9:30 a.m. The 10K kicks off at 10:45 a.m. and includes a summit of Haystack. The 5K, at 11 a.m., features a traverse through Barbour Woods. This year all runners will receive a free slice of pizza from Peteza Mobile Pizza, and Norbrook Brewery will sell beverages as well.

Registration for the half-marathon is $35 and the 10K and 5K are $25. Registration for households up to four people is $60 and $80 for the half marathon.
