Global Issues, A Public Forum About Russia

Peter Vosburgh to debate Russian ambassador Sergei Kambalov

Norfolk resident and Russian linguist Peter Vosburgh will debate Sergei Kambalov, a retired Russian ambassador to the United Nations, at a presentation of “Global Issues, A Public Forum About Russia.” The pair will discuss current and historical events relative to Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the Ukraine crisis.

Vosburgh is a graduate of Yale University, holds a Master’s degree in Russian from the University of Syracuse and attended the Georgetown University Foreign Service School. He lived and worked in Kharkov, Ukraine as an international consultant for several years, and has an extensive knowledge of Russian history.

In the debate, Vosburgh hopes to demonstrate how the very same issues plaguing Russia now were in existence in Stalin’s time.

The discussion will take place at the Cornwall Library on September 13 at 2 p.m. For more information, contact Vosburgh at petervosburgh@msn.com.
