For their last game of the season, the kids on the Botelle fifth and sixth grade soccer team were proud to sport brand-new pink t-shirts.

To show their support for the fight against breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, firefighters across the United States and Canada wore pink t-shirts in October. The International Association of Fire Fighters also supported a contest to design the best pink t-shirt. For its part, the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) sold pink t-shirts for $15, with all proceeds going to the Lorraine Barbagallo Scholarship Fund as part of the Norfolk Children’s Foundation.

A member of the Barbagallo family bought kid-sized t-shirts for the soccer team to wear at their last game, on Saturday, October 25.

Shirts are still available in limited quantities in all sizes. To order one, contact the NVFD at norfolkfiredepartment@sbcglobal.net, or phone 860-542-5021.
