Local Foundation Rewards Students

Six graduating high school seniors from Norfolk received $1,000 scholarship awards from the Norfolk Connecticut Children’s Foundation at a ceremony on the village green on June 28. On the left, with checks in hand, is Don Tobias, president of the foundation. The students are, from left to right, Winter Thorne-Kaunelis, Dylan Johnson, Xavier Rodriguez, Shane Cyr, Abby Starr and Griffin Berlstein. Five other seniors who were not present also received grants. The NCCF awards the scholarships annually, and the 2015 group was one of the largest in recent years.
