A Tradition of Wreath Making at GMF
Come join your Great Mountain Forest friends for their annual wreath-making workshops. Saturday, December 5, from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 6, from 9 a.m. to noon are family sessions. Sunday, December 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. is an adults-only session. Fees: $35 per person, $50 per family. Limit one wreath per person, two per family. Additional wreaths are available for $20 more. Sessions will take place at the Childs Center, 200 Canaan Mountain Road, Falls Village. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Winter Courses at Taconic Learning Center
The winter term of Taconic Learning Center will begin on January 18, with courses such as Reading Shakespeare Aloud, The Book of Genesis, Play Reading, The Bernstein Legacy, The 1930’: A Decade we Could Have Done Without, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Group Meditation. There are no registration fees for attending these classes, but it hoped that those attending will want to become members. Norfolk Farmers Market Annual Holiday Market
The holiday edition of the Norfolk Farmers Market will be held on December 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Batell Chapel of the Church of Christ, 12 Village Green, Route 272. Featured will be local artisans, food vendors, book signing, live music, a catered lunch and free parking. Go to www.norfolkfarmersmarket.org for details and bad weather closings.
Breakfast with Santa
The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department’s 21st Annual Breakfast With Santa will be held Saturday, December 5, from 7 to 10 a.m., at the Battell Chapel. $9 for adults, $7 for seniors & children 12 and under. Children five and under are free. For information please call (860) 542-5654.
Community Carol Sing
Come to the Norfolk Church of Christ on December 13 at 4 p.m. for a community carol sing, with hot cocoa and refreshments. Music will be provided by the Church of Christ Choir, Chapel Chicks and Nightingals. The long-anticipated raffle drawing will also be held at 5 p.m. Enjoy food and fellowship in a casual atmosphere and as a bonus, take a tour of the beautiful chapel windows.
Shop Norfolk on Norfolk Night
The center of Norfolk will be alive with holiday cheer on December 10 when town merchants open their doors until 8 p.m. for shopping and fun. Meanwhile, outdoors on Station Place, Christmas trees and wreaths will be available for sale, the Church of Christ choir will be singing carols and Loon Meadow Farms will have a sleigh on hand for a holiday photo opportunity. There will also be music by Lions Share bluegrass band and special delicious offers in the Norfolk eateries. It is an evening not to be missed!
