Avoid Accidents and Pay Your Taxes
By Sue Dyer
To avoid any materials flying out of the back of a truck onto the road and causing an accident, please make sure that your loads are secured or covered. The driver following you will appreciate it.
Real estate, motor vehicle and personal property taxes are due throughout the month of July. The last possible date you will be able to pay is Monday, August 1. You can pay in person or by mail, but the envelope must be postmarked August 1. After that, interest at the rate of 1.5 percent per month begins to accumulate. If you find it difficult to make your tax payment, contact the Tax Collector to make payment arrangements. It’s better to be proactive than to ignore them completely.
