Weekend in Norfolk Helping Fire Department Celebrate New Truck

The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating the acquisition of its newest fire truck by having a Housing ceremony on Saturday, August 6, during Weekend in Norfolk. All are welcome to attend the festivities, which will feature hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy for all. The NVFD will also be selling souvenir mugs emblazoned with a photo of the truck. If you want a mug, better get there early…they did not order very many.
Weekend in Norfolk, August 5, 6 and 7, is a three-day, town-wide art, music and nature festival. Events run the gamut from art exhibits to nature walks, world-class music to a watermelon-eating contest, a quilt show and boat-building demonstrations to the opportunity to get married on the Village Green, and new events are being added all the time. Visit weekendinnorfolk.org for details.

The NVFD emblem matches the tile one on the Royal Arcanum Building, where the fire department and its engines used to be housed; many Weekend in Norfolk events will take place near it on August 5, 6 and 7.
