Sporting Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

This year, two Norfolk youth soccer teams wore pink T-shirts to support the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department’s campaign for breast cancer awareness, with the proceeds going to the Laverne Barbagallo Scholarship within the Norfolk Children’s Foundation.  The third/fourth grade soccer team had their new pink uniforms sponsored by Louis Barbagallo, whose granddaughter Samantha plays on the team.

The fifth/sixth grade soccer team had their pink T-shirts sponsored by Holly Durstin, a breast cancer survivor, whose son Tyler is on the team.

Both teams wore their uniforms during games on Saturday, October 15.  This is the third year in a row that Norfolk soccer teams have donned pink in support of the fire department’s fundraiser.
