Farmers Market Gets New Manager
The Norfolk Farmers Market has just tapped Seth (Rusty) Warner, center, to be its new manager starting in early February. He succeeds Theresa Cannavo, who left to focus on her new business.
A New Hartford resident, Warner is a soil scientist and consultant who specializes in building fertile soils using organic methods. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Conservation District, is working with the Northwest Hills Council of Governments to help promote regional plans of conservation and development and is a member of the Open Space Preservation Commission of New Hartford. He also has experience in software development and Internet marketing.
Warner looks forward to working with the market’s steering committee, the Norfolk community and local businesses to attract more visitors and customers from a wider geographic area. He is also planning to recruit vendors who will offer a more varied mix of products. Warner will be assisted by Norfolk resident Jordan Rose Lee who has signed on as assistant manager for a second year.
Indoor Saturday markets continue inside Norfolk’s Town Hall from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., February 4 and 18, March 4 and 18 and April 8 and 22. The outdoor season starts on May 13. Check the market website, www.norfolkfarmersmarket.org, or its Facebook page for updates and lists of vendors.
