Connecticut Trails Day Hike
The Norfolk Land Trust will sponsor a hike on Dennis Hill on Saturday, June 1 as
part of Connecticut Trails Day. Dennis Collins will lead an easy loop hike to the
gazebo. Meet at the trailhead off of Route 272 south 9:30 a.m. Rain date will be

Not as Boring As You’d Think
The history and biology of the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle will be revealed by
scientist Dr. Claire Rutledge, in a lecture sponsored by the Norfolk Land Trust.
The exotic wood-boring beetle was first detected in Connecticut in 2012, where
it continues to threaten our forests, particularly ash trees. The lecture will offer
advice on how one can minimize the beetle’s impact. The talk will take place at
the Norfolk Library on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m.

Teen Improvisation Workshop
Junior and High School students are invited to attend a workshop on comic
improvisation on Saturday, June 8 from 4 to 5:15 p.m.at the Norfolk Library.
Sponsored by the Battell Arts Foundation, the class will be directed by actor
Diane Canova, founder of Troupe du Jour. The workshop will be followed by a
pizza supper and a benefit performance for the Library at Battell Chapel. The

Charity Ride Sets Off From Norfolk
On May 25, the 10th annual Angel Ride will leave from Norfolk on a two day,
135 mile journey to Mystic, CT. The charity event will raise money for the Hole in
the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT, (where they will overnight), which supports
children with life threatening diseases. More information at AngelRide.org.

Classics on Wheels

There is still time to be a part of the upcoming Community Classic Cars Show,
scheduled for July 14. The registration for the event, sponsored by ArtsWave,

Food Pantry
The Church of Christ would like to remind people that non-perishable food items
and Stop & Shop gift cards can be dropped off at the Battell Chapel on the Green
from Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
