New Signage Planned For Norfolk

Two new signs at either end of town on Route 44 will welcome cyclists, motorists and the occasional pedestrian to Norfolk. The design, featuring an arch with a hanging signboard and the date of Norfolk’s founding, was recently approved by the Board of Selectmen. The cost of fabrication and installation will be underwritten by a grant secured for the town by the Northwestern Connecticut Regional Planning Collaborative.

An information center sign for town related notices will be erected in Robertson Plaza. A fourth sign at the town center and a fifth at the corner of Maple Avenue will direct visitors to the town’s public and commercial buildings.

Norfolk is one of eight towns in the Northwest Corner that belong to the planning collaborative, which focuses on revitalizing village centers and encouraging affordable housing. The signs will be installed this spring or summer.
