Ricky Hamilton, 48, of 10 Ashpohtag Road was sentenced in Litchfield Superior Court on June 26 to 30 months in prison with no probation.  He is currently serving that time at the Enfield Correctional Facility.

Hamilton pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics with intent to sell at a May 2007 court date.  His original sentence was two years, but failure to appear at his sentencing on June 22 resulted in an additional six months of jail time for the Norfolk resident.

Hamilton has also been charged in Massachusetts with transportation of narcotics, failure to stop and an open container violation, following an arrest in Sheffield, MA last December.  A plea hasn’t been entered yet in that case, but the case is included in Berkshire Superior Court’s September trial list.

Hamilton, his 77-year-old stepfather, Louis Cammilletti and his 43-year-old girlfriend, Karen Nejaime, were all arrested in a drug raid at their home on Ashpohtag Road on January 10. State Police found 18 grams of crack cocaine during the raid, as well as drug paraphernalia, cash, and pills. Several firearms were also found, including a .12-gauge shotgun, a .20-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber rifle, a .44-caliber rifle, a Ruger carbine and a .38-caliber handgun

Cammilletti was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one count of criminal possession of a pistol and one count of accessory to sale of narcotics. In 1987, Cammilletti was convicted on felony drug charges and is therefore not legally entitled to possess firearms.  He pleaded not guilty to all charges at his May 8 court date.  His sentencing was supposed to take place on June 15, but Litchfield County State’s Attorney office reports that his case has been discontinued until September 18.

Nejaime pleaded guilty in Litchfield Superior Court on June 26 to two counts of possession of narcotics and is currently serving three years of probation.  Just three months after the January police raid at the home on Ashpohtag Road, Nejaime was found in possession of narcotics following a car accident on Route 272 South in Norfolk.  Any violations of her probation could result in a six-year jail sentence.
