Gallery Talk at the Norfolk Historical Society
Photo historian, Michaela Murphy will give a gallery talk on the work of Marie Kendall Sunday, October 7 at 2 p.m. Kendall’s photographs of Norfolk at the turn of the 20th century demonstrate a range of skill and adventuresome spirit that led her to experiment with multiple exposures and enlargements, a radical technique at the time. This talk will shed light on Kendall’s use of a 19th century view camera, her artistry and some of the techniques she employed. Reservations are not required.

Autumn Bounty
Home gardeners are invited to offer their wares at an additional farmer’s market Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., rain or shine, at the corner of Route 44 and Shepard Road. Home gardeners may share a special table to sell their extras. Simply show up to sell your extra basket of gourds, and surplus items such as eggs or green tomatoes. Bring your own chair. To offset market costs and help match a state grant, participants are asked to donate 10% of  proceeds, up to a maximum of $25. The market will feature pumpkins, cider and apples, as well as the usual great bread, produce and other farm items. For more information, call market manager Lisa Auclair at 542-5044.
