Selectman’s Corner

The Chore Service, a local program serving the communities of Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Kent, Norfolk, Salisbury and Sharon, seeks workers to complete various household chores and yard work for those in need. Workers are paid $12.50 per hour, plus mileage. If you are interested in working for The Chore Service, please contact the Selectmen’s Office for more information.
Friendly Visitors and Garden Angels are looking for volunteers to visit elderly or disabled people or assist them with their gardening projects. If you would like to become a volunteer, or are interested in receiving these free services, please call 860-364-0171.
Our new Certified Assessor, Barbara Bigos, will be continuing her inspections through the fall of those properties that have recently sold, been on the market or those with recent improvements (both with and without permits). In order to better identify residences, Barbara will be photographing the front exterior of all homes. Please note that her vehicle will be clearly marked “Town of Norfolk Assessor” and she will personally be conducting all inspections. Most inspections will take place on Saturdays and Thursday afternoons. Please contact the Assessor’s Office before 12:00 noon at 542-5287 with any questions.
