New Volunteers Join Norfolk Now
Polidoro and Hubers sign on and Rotolo becomes issue editor
By Lloyd Garrison
Two newcomers to Norfolk Now and a veteran contributor have stepped up to fill three new staff positions.
Frankie Polidoro is taking on the job of distribution and Adela Hubers has signed on as a staff photographer.
Lindsey Pizzica Rotolo is leaving distribution, but continuing to serve as treasurer. Rotolo was also recently elevated to executive editor, and this edition of Norfolk Now marks her first outing as an issue editor.
Issue editors rotate among the paper’s five executive editors, and it is their job to assign stories and photo shoots, write View from the Green, edit all articles and oversee the paper’s layout. In short, the job entails total responsibility for the paper’s contents.
Frankie Polidoro, who resides on Phelps Road just over the border in Colebrook, serves on the Library Associates and is a past president of the Norfolk-Colebrook Garden Club. She and her husband, Joe, are retired and spend the winter in Florida.
A replacement while she is away from January to April is still being sought out.
Adela Hubers is an accomplished potter with a Ph.D. in psychology and many years of experience as a freelance photographer. Her most recent photography can be seen at her website: www.flickr.com\photos\digilager.
The paper is also continuing its search for an ad manager to take over from Dave Taylor, who was in on the paper’s launch in 2003 and has been at it ever since. Sounds time consuming, and it may have been so in the beginning, but Taylor says he no longer has to solicit ads, and billing and communicating with clients consumes only a few hours a month.
Taylor is ready to answer any questions about the job at 542-5500, which is the Norfolk office of Elyse Harney Real Estate.
