Enjoying Norfolk in the Fall
NORFEST to Celebrate the Beauty of Our Town
There is perhaps no place in the world more beautiful than Norfolk in the fall. To encourage people to visit our town in autumn, the Norfolk Artisans Guild and the Economic Development Commission have joined forces to create “NORFEST – Celebrate Fall in Norfolk,” an afternoon of fun and relaxation.
On Sunday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the village will be alive with exciting events, including an historic walk through downtown Norfolk, The Great Pumpkin Hunt, delicious food and make-your-own sundaes. Among other activities, a guided tour of the City Meadow project and a drawing for a basket of local goodies will be offered at NORFEST.
One of the highlights of the day will be the judging of the Scarecrow Contest. Everyone—individuals or businesses—are encouraged to create a scarecrow, which will be on display throughout town from October 7 until Nov 1. Scarecrows should be dropped off at the Artisans Guild on Friday, October 6. Businesses can also choose to display their creation(s) in front of their business. Entry forms are available at the guild or can be emailed by contacting the Artisans Guild at 860-542-5055.
