Road Foreman Dennis Porter Fired, Arrested
Dennis Porter of Winsted, Supervisor of Norfolkâs road crew since 1999, was fired on
July 2, 2008. On July 8, he was arrested on a charge of second-degree larceny. Allegedly,
Porter had sold town-owned scrap metal and failed to turn over all the proceeds to the
town.
The criminal case against Porter is pending in Bantam, with a court date of October 28.
Meanwhile, Porter has filed a complaint in Litchfield Superior Court alleging that the
town owes him overtime pay.
Porter was a salaried employee, earning over $56,000 a year. His duties supervising the
town road crew have been assumed by the Board of Selectmen. No replacement has been
named.
