Library Hours Changed.

Beginning January 1, the Norfolk Library will be open on
Mondays until 7 p.m. but will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. Wednesdays through Friday s
they will be open until 5. On Saturdays the library hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on
Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Come Learn About Vo-Ag.

The Vocational Agriculture (Vo-Ag) Center at Northwestern
Regional 7 will hold an “8th Grade Come See What We’re About Night” on Tuesday,
January 13 at 7 p.m. This meeting is for eighth graders and their families who want to
learn more about the Agriculture Education Program. The evening will include a slide
show presentation, a question and answer period and a tour of the facility. For more

Documentary Film Series.

The Norfolk Library will present a documentary film series
each Tuesday evening from January 13 through February 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The
films will center around the lives of children or adolescents in five different countries
around the world. Films include “Please Vote for Me,” directed by Weijun Chen;
“Promises,” directed by Carlos Bolado; “A State of Mind,” directed by Daniel Gordon;
“LaSierra,” directed by Scott Dalton and Margarita Martinez; and “War Dance,” directed

Feed our Neighbors.

The Food Pantry at the Church of Christ, Norfolk, is open every
Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for anyone in need of its services.
Donations of canned fruits, vegetable, canned meats or canned poultry, cereal, coffee,
instant potatoes and other non-perishable items, including toiletries, are always
welcomed. Baby food or formula, canned or dried beans, dented cans, international
foods or outdated items will not be accepted. Super Saver (IGA) or Stop & Shop gift
cards as well as checks made out to the Church of Christ are always helpful. For more

Free College Program for High School Seniors.

Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted is offering a free Career Math program, beginning January 20. The program, made possible through a grant from Alcoa Howmet and the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA, is open to high school seniors. Students may
choose between two classes, “Preparing for College Math” or “Tooling U: An On-Line
Introduction to Manufacturing Basics.” Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 4 to 5:20 p.m., with a combined class on Wednesdays each week for visits to local
companies and employment skills training. Only ten students will be accepted into each
