Scenic crossing succumbs to weather

Due to floods and years of rain, ice, and snow, the Killarney Bridge in Barbour Woods has deteriorated to a dangerous point. The bridge, modeled after a one in Ireland, was built in 1908. Today, much of the stonework has crumbled away, and what remains of the supporting arch is badly cracked. The Norfolk Land Trust has taken the difficult decision to close this much beloved landmark and hopes, at some future date, to install another bridge near by. Please choose an alternate route when you plan your hike or be prepared to ford the stream. Happily, there are many other miles of trails to explore.
