Norfolk Now welcomes new Subscriptions Manager
By Rosanna Trestman
Susan Patrick has taken over the job of subscriptions manager from
Buk Jackson, who made sure that Norfolk Now found its way to
mailboxes all around the world.
Susan Patrick and her husband, Bruce, came to Norfolk in 1993 as
weekend residents. Two years ago, Ms. Patrick left her position at
J.P. Morgan Chase as CFO for Marketing and Communications, to
become Deputy Director of a not-for- profit organization, ReServe. As
its name implies, ReServe places retired professionals back into the
workplace where they may still be of service, but at a scale
appropriate for their age and condition. They work for 10-20 hours a
week, and at a better than minimum wage salary.
Ms. Patrick volunteered for the subscriptions position in a similar
desire to give back to the community. “When Norfolk Now arrives on
my doorstep in New York, it is a breath of fresh air. I feel strongly that
if there’s something you value, you need to take steps to keep it
going. Processing subscriptions is a task that I can handle as a
weekender.”
Norfolk Now is happy to welcome Susan Patrick as part of our
volunteer team.
