Church of Christ Congregational (United Church of Christ) is pleased to announce that the Norfolk Food Pantry recently received a grant of $1,000 from The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut. “We are delighted to have been selected as one of ten critical-needs grants,” says Church of Christ’s Reverend Erick R. Olsen. “This type of support goes a long way in helping us to assist our neighbors who have few, if any, other options. We are deeply grateful to The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut for joining us in our efforts to make a positive difference in people’s lives in this community.” Olsen explained that Church of Christ hosts the Norfolk Food Pantry, which welcomes contributions of canned goods as well as monetary donations. In addition to the pantry, Church of Christ also maintains a Minister’s Discretionary Fund, which enables the pastor to assist people in crisis with expenses connected to heating, electricity, rent, and other basic life needs.
