Don’t Forget These Important Dates
By: Sue Dyer
A reminder to Norfolk Elderly or Totally Disabled Renters, the application period for the state’s renter’s rebate program ends September 15. If you are single and your income is less than $30,500 or if you are married and your income is less than $37,500, you may qualify for this program. Veterans are reminded that the additional veterans’ tax relief program for the state and local option ends October 1. For both of these programs, please contact the Assessor’s Office at 542-5287, open daily until noon, for further information. If you are having difficulty paying for prescriptions, we might be able to assist. Please contact the Selectman’s Office at 542-5829 for more information about this program. And even though this year’s election seems a long way off, it is never too early to register to vote. If you have not yet registered, you must do so before October 27. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. If you are going to be away on that day, you should see the Town Clerk about obtaining an absentee ballot.
