An Extraordinary Legacy: The Photographs of Marie H. Kendall, from June 2

The Norfolk Historical Society & Museum opens its 2018 season on June 2 with an exciting look at Norfolks’ own 19th-century photographer. Marie Kendall arrived in Norfolk in 1884 just as Norfolk was undergoing a transformation from mill town to bustling summer colony. Over the next several decades Kendall diligently recorded the life of the town and its inhabitants. The exhibition will feature original photographs and new prints made from the museum’s recently digitized glass plate negative collection. The museum, located at 13 Village Green, is open Saturday and Sunday June to Oct. from 1 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Please visit the website norfolkhistoricalsociety.org for additional details, membership & contact info.
