Children of all ages gathered in the Hall of Flags at Botelle School on Friday, Oct. 26, for the annual Halloween celebration. Circulating through the crowd were scarecrows, witches, masked marauders, walking skeletons, a playful raccoon, a bevy of princesses, squads of superheroes and a solitary blue crayon. Standing guard at the entrance to the maze was a six-foot penguin, a scary apparition, but the horrors that ambushed those who ventured onward into the cobwebbed passageways  defy description. There were screams and blood-curdling laughter. A good time was had by all.
