Spring Cleanup
By Matt Riiska
Spring is right around the corner, maybe, and we have all started to think about getting outside and getting things back in shape after a long winter. As you start tackling your own yard, think about spending a few minutes cleaning up the sides of the roads. With the snow melting, the debris thrown from cars is starting to appear. The brilliant blues of the Bud Light cans, the glistening of the nipper bottles and the white, yellow and brown tones of the crumpled McDonald’s wrappers dot the landscape.
Larry Hannafin of the Economic Development Commission has been recruiting individuals to take care of the cleanup of many of the roads in town. This has certainly been a help, but we all need to do our part. So if you have a few minutes, grab a garbage bag, put on your gloves, slip on your reflective vest and help get the road sides ready for a beautiful spring. Thanks!
