Town-wide Tag Sale Aug. 6
By Celia McGowan
This is going to be the biggest tag sale ever in Norfolk, just for Weekend in Norfolk. On Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., all around town, you will find something for everyone, from rag dolls and plush bunnies, gilded sandals, and leather boots, fine china and lead crystal, tinned bakeware and chef’s knives, vintage Tupperware and rolling pins, summer skirts and wool sweaters, hats and mittens, Legos and Hot Wheels…. among us we have everything imaginable! Every venue is different. Some addresses have just one household, others have neighbors participating and the one at 12 Laurel Way is a large multiple-household estate sale with many wonderful high-end items. Come explore and find treasures to take home. Friendly Norfolk will welcome you.
And, while you are exploring tag sales, whether by car or on foot, take a moment to look at the outside of some of Norfolk’s historic houses, as presented in the Norfolk Historical Society’s walking tour brochure. If you don’t have a copy, pick one up (along with the map of the tag sale locations) at the Historical Society, Norfolk Library or the WIN information center at 2 Station Place. The historic houses are not tag sale sites, nor can you go inside (most are private residences), but they are lovely old buildings with a long history, just like our town.
Spend some time on WIN weekend to explore Norfolk and find special treasures to take home.
