Margaret O’Malley died suddenly on Oct. 26, 2022. She was with her family in her home on Burt Lake, in Michigan. Although she left Norfolk several years ago to live full-time at her family compound, she continued to stay fully connected with this town and her beloved library. 

Margaret served on the Board of Directors of the Norfolk Library from 2001 to 2006.  After a one-year absence, she was reelected to the Board in 2007 and served from then until 2013 as Board Treasurer. Margaret was a longtime member of the Library Associates both during her years in Norfolk and after she moved to Michigan. 

For many years, she donated the poinsettias with which the library is decorated during the holiday season. This year the poinsettias will be given to the library by the Library Associates in her memory. Margaret was a gentle soul and a treasure to the Norfolk Library and to the town. She will be greatly missed.
