LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Norfolk Speaks
My name is Peter O’Brien, and I have been a Norfolk resident for 40 years. A few months ago, I began volunteering aPantry. For those who may not be aware, our pantry is run exclusively by volunteers who foster deep personal connections with those we serve. Our mission is simple: to combat hunger and food insecurity with an unparalleled community spirit.
As volunteers, we are the gears that keep the pantry running. Whether it is fundraising, grocery shopping, organizing shelves, or distributing food, my colleagues demonstrate in-credible kindness and dedication.
I want to take this opportunity to thank both my fellow volunteers and the entire Norfolk community. While the volunteers work directly with our clients, we could not provide such a wide range of healthy food options without the immense weekly generosity of the people in Norfolk and our surrounding towns. We are truly blessed by your food and financial donations.
I am grateful to work alongside people who bring such love and joy to their service. I am also thankful to our clients, who frequently share smiles and kind words that remind us why we are here. And to Norfolk, thank you for being such a giving community. You make me proud to live here!
