Matica Circus, a professional performing group based in Harwinton, Conn., brought an unforgettable combination of fire, acrobatics and circus arts to the Norfolk Village Green for the grand finale of the season of the Friday Nights on the Green summer concert series.

The high-energy performance captivated the crowd with dramatic fire spinning, acrobatic fire dancing, fire jump ropes performed on unicycles and flaming hula hoops. The show also featured tumbling, unicycling and a variety of impressive circus skills, creating a thrilling and memorable conclusion to a summer series centered on music, community and togetherness.

Throughout the summer, Friday Nights on the Green gave Norfolk residents a reason to gather each week. Families, friends and neighbors arrived with blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy live music, free food and a relaxed evening on the village green. Each Friday offered something different, from talented musical performers and local food vendors to BBQ nights, community organizations and special activities.

The success of the series was made possible by the incredible network of local organizations, businesses, volunteers and community members who gave their time, energy and support. Week after week, countless volunteer hours went into making these gatherings possible. Their dedication is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

The Norfolk Hub provided free food throughout the series, and many other organizations, businesses and community partners contributed to help make the season such a success, including the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, Norfolk Curling Club, Norfolk Volunteer Ambulance, Norfolk Lions Club, National Iron Bank, Botelle PTO, Norfolk Nature Alliance, Freund’s Farm, The Rescue Collective, Norfolk Historical Society, Aton Forest, Les Renards & Co. Bookshop, Norfolk Land Trust, Artisans Market, UCC/ Norfolk NET, Norfolk Library and Great Mountain Forest.

From the first Friday Night on the Green to Matica Circus’s spectacular finale, the series was a celebration of the people who make Norfolk such a special place to live.
