Yale Offers Free Drawing Class in the Art Barn

The coming of Yale art students to the Norfolk campus brings with it a wonderful opportunity for Norfolk residents. On Saturday mornings, a weekly life drawing class set in the renovated art barn, is held for anyone who is interested. Art amateurs and artists alike gather at 10 a.m. in one of the studios to sketch a live model hired by the art program for the next two hours.

Materials are generously provided, and artists have the choice of sketching with pencils, charcoal, and ink, or bringing their own materials. There is a little coffee break, when everyone is invited to gather and engage in fruitful discussions among all artists.

This class has been continuing after the end of the art program, and will convene through August, with an additional class on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to this warm and non-judgmental group. No reservations necessary. Just drop in at one or all of the classes.
