Primary Results
Democratic Registrar of Voters Paul Madore reported that about one third of the voters who participated in the Aug. 11 primaries in the Republican and Democratic primaries availed themselves of the extended early voting period. Most voted on primary day. Overall, Norfolk’s results mirrored the statewide totals.
A total of 153 votes were cast in the Democratic primary for governor with incumbent Gov. Ned Lamont receiving 102 votes and challenger Josh Elliot receiving 51 votes. In the Republican primary to choose an opponent for incumbent U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes, 35 residents voted. Chris Shea, the party endorsed candidate, received 28 votes. Challenger Jonathan DeBarros received seven.
